Overview

A series of post-renovation snagging works carried out to bring a recently renovated property up to final standard prior to the homeowner moving in.

Scope of work

Bathrooms and wet areas

  • Applied fresh silicone to all shower and bath areas in the family bathroom, master en-suite and guest en-suite.
  • Removed insufficient or poorly applied silicone, prepared surfaces, and installed new sanitary-grade sealant.

Tile grouting and corrections

  • Completed grouting in the hallway floor, including cutting and fitting small tile pieces to fill gaps around door frames, architraves and skirting boards.
  • Completed grout application in the utility room for a consistent finish.
  • Final grouting and cleaning down of floor tiles in the garden room.

Finishing mouldings

  • Cut, finished and installed 25 × 6 mm moulding in the dining room to conceal an uneven perimeter gap around the floor.
  • Installed oak mouldings at the bar door and cellar to resolve similar gaps left following flooring installation.

Results

All snagging works were completed to a high standard, ensuring the property was fully prepared for occupancy. The improvements resolved previous inconsistencies left after renovation, delivering durable finishes, watertight bathroom areas, and visually cohesive flooring throughout the home.

Summary

This project demonstrates how careful snagging and finishing work can bring a renovation up to its intended standard, resolving small inconsistencies and ensuring the property is ready for immediate use.

I contacted Lorne to look at a problem with the waterproofing over the bay window. He did what was necessary there and then – it took him less than half an hour. I will be recommending him to all my friends.
